Recognition and Validation of Skills and Qualifications

Erasmus+ supports EU transparency and recognition tools – in particular Europass, Youthpass, the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET), the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework (EQAVET), European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR), the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), as well as EU-wide networks in the field of education and training supporting these tools, in particular the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) and Euroguidance networks and the National Europass Centres).

A common purpose of these tools is to ensure that skills and qualifications can be more easily recognised, within and across national borders, in all sub-systems of education and training as well as in the labour market. The tools should also ensure that education, training and youth policies further contribute to Europe 2020 objectives of competitiveness, employment and growth through more successful labour market integration and more mobility and to reach its education and employment headline targets.

At IES Puerto de la Cruz – Telesforo Bravo two ways qualification certificate is provided to the students participating in a KA1 traineeship mobility. In one hand, the intership is convalidated in their short cycle as the FCT (Formación en Centros de Trabajo) module. In other hand, ECTS credits are awarded in accordance with the official academic degree. Europass documents are also used in stages of the process.
